The multi-rename option is a typical useful feature. Provided that your interface is probably very advanced, you wasn’t quite been able to use it. Anyway, in general, an option “Bulk operations…” on the file menu could provide similar features for all bulk rename/copy/move operations, with wilcards, regexps etc.
